Rossi could go for as little as £12m

Don't united have first option on buying him anyway??
I'm 99% sure that when he was sold, they put a buy back clause in the contract.

Brilliant little player though.

That was my understanding and Mrs DH has refered to it numerous times over the last couple of years, whether that had an expiry date though I'm not too sure, she rated him highly and still follows his progress, she'd have him back at the rags tomorrow.

Me, I just have reservations about anyone with a cruciate ligament reconstruction (if that's actually what he's had) having had personal experience.

And I'm an American, so I'll never forgive Rossi for turning his back on us. He had the chance to be one of the greatest American footballers of all time and help a US team that is starting to turn things around with players like Dempsey, Donovan, Bradley, and Jermaine Jones etc.

If your not from the States, I'd understand liking him. It's just become personal for me.

This all day, he's a traitor.

Also an American here. I apologize for the bump of a players thread were not linked with. But, I just got to understand this, how is Rossi a traitor?? He never once said he was going to play for United States. He grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Jersey where he spoke only Italian.(read that in an article apologize if incorrect) He moved to Italy when he was 12 with his father to start his youth career with Parma. This man was never going to play for the United States, and as much as I love my National team, if I had the choice to play for Italy or the United States and my entire family were full Italian nationalists I'd play for Italy to. If you're looking for a traitor talk about Neven Subotić who actually played for are U-17 and U-20 National team had a fall-out with the coach, and just said F the USA i'll play for Serbia. Rossi was never going to play for us, he made that known from day one. "Cant be upset about losing something you never had" A man much wiser than I said that.

My bad. No I don't think he's better than Tevez... so third best is more correct.
For us, considering how we play I think Rossi is a better option than Edin. He's very quick, exceptional in crowded spaces and a very lethal finisher. Like Suarez at Liverpool only a class better.
I think very highly of Edin by the way, so much I actually kind of want him to sign for Bayern or AC Milan where he probably would fit better in. He deserves to play week in and week out.

Out of curiosity: what happened to make you think he's (Giuseppe) a cnut? I always took him for a a down-to-earth kind of guy, a team-player who gave his all on the pitch. But that's just the impression I was under and I could be wrong.

Yeah, I wish Edin got more time somewhere he fits the style of play better.

Perhaps you should watch an interview of the lad... English is his first language and he oft gives interviews with a thick Jersey accent. Rossi was also in contention for a spot amongst their team but he simply couldn't wait. He is another Rag who thought playing in the reserves for Man Utd took precedent over all.

As a player he is an injury nightmare. Decent finisher, mediocre link up play but he's best suited at the level he's at.

2 cruciates in a year , he'll never be the same player

Possibly so. Such a shame... what a brilliant player he was before the injuries, an absolute joy to watch.
