Rotherham (FA Cup) Post Match Thread

well, why did you bother saying 'might as well blow up on 80" if you were fully aware that couldnt happen? bit of a waste of time?

anyway, you asked about blowing up on 90, i said my opinion was that it didn't matter, you obviously disagree, the rules say it's the ref's discretion. Sorry i cant be of more assistance.

Ref made a clear mistake with timing, and therefore rightly criticised. In both halves

Will time be added on at the end of this thread?

I was surprised that there was no added time in the second half but at 7 - 0 not particularly fussed. I can imagine the injustice if he had added 4 minutes and Sane or one of our big guns had picked up a long term injury in added on time. Glad to get the team through the game with no injuries (or none that I’m aware of)

I noticed only Zinchenko, Danilo and one other, who I forget, came towards the family stand and east stand and applauded the fans at the end. Not criticizing the others, because it's been a gruelling few weeks and they usually do, but it's a nice touch by those two.

Gundogan and Walker were definately applauding the East Stand.

Rotherham fan here, just got back home from the game. What's to say...well well done on the win. We didn't play anywhere near as good as we can but even if we did you would still have won very comfortably. The gulf in class is huge. Anyhow we know what we are and that's a small club and always will be. Was a privilege to visit the etihad, great fans, class team. Wish you all the best. Oh and there's only 1 team in Manchester and its blue. Best wishes guys. Up the millers

Thanks your sportsmanship is a real credit to you and your club. When I see your fans and compare them with the glory hunters who follow the likes of Liverpool and how they behave the contrast is stark. The vast majority of Rotherham fans stayed to the end to salute the Millers and your brilliant manager. I wish you all the very best for the rest of the season and hope you stay up.

I was a bit surprised that Rotherham didn't give it more of a go yesterday. If you're going to get gubbed 7-0 you may as well go down fighting. Particularly after half-time where I would have thought the team talk would have been along the lines of 'OK lads, we're 3-0 down so we may as well go for it'. I'd be annoyed if I was a Rotherham supporter
I thought they had a go first half (albeit on the counter), it was only 1-0 at 43 minutes.

As I was leaving the Etithad on Sunday after the Rotherham game, the talk was mainly about where the injury time had gone. Surely the ref should have played some even if it wasn't the full amount that he should have played. I worked it out to another 6 minutes according to the laws of the game. So I guess that he just felt sorry for them and decided not to play any at all.
