Roughest pub

I don't drink but i grew up living next to The Moss Rose (later renamed The Four Heatons) in Stockport. I had never been in there and i'm not sure how rough it actually was, but there was always kicks off and bottles being smashed after arguments. Then one day when i was walking to the bus stop for uni, there were tonnes of police there. Not sure how we hadn't noticed but apparently there had been some gang shit going down in the pub and some guy had been kidnapped, locked in his car boot and the car set on fire, burning him alive. A little after that the place was torched and now it's a co-op, the area is still trying to recover from its scally roots.

I also remember that one. Rough as cheese in there.

I remember the court case and subsequent acquittal. Funnily enough the police didn't seem to start looking for anyone else.

I lived one door down. I remember having a tricycle that i used to ride outside the house and some man coming out of the pub, pushing me off the tricycle and walking off with it on his shoulder. Proper gangsters, they were :D
What would you give to meet that tosser now?

Does anyone know the name of the pub over the bookies at Casement Park Belfast? My gaffer at Satellite Info Services attended the switch on of the horse race services there in the early 90’s, the bookmaker paid a large part of his profit to the IRA for protection. After the switch on the SIS reps were invited up to the pub for drinks and snacks. Sat at a table were Martin Mcguiness, Gerry Adams and other members of the high command of the IRA, my gaffer who looked like a squaddie was with the Boss of SIS Nigel Payne who was public school educated and spoke like it, both were very relieved to get away.
