Roy Hodgson - A Ray of Sunshine in all the Gloom

Do he do well with the Swiss?
If so I'm amazed, his methodical, robotic football would require an incredible amount of contact with players (easy, not that kind).

What a plank. Hodgson is one of the more knowledgeable managers in the English game. He organizes teams very well. Look at what he did with Fulham, and what he's doing with West Brom.

He's not Jose Mourinho, but he's a bloody good manager. Always seemed like a gentleman to me as well.

I've not read it, seen it but there's a big gap between praising and slagging and most managers pitch their pre-match chat in this gap

he seems to have gone further towards praising us than he needed to and i'll give him the benefit it's genuine

Woy attempted the double reverse Clarkie with a twist, and it looks like he's pulled it off.

I tell you what is the biggest joke.

City away from home this season: 7-4-5----> 25 points.

WBA away from home this season: 6-4-6----> 22 points.

The differences between the squads are extraordinary.

Well done, you've successfully demonstrated you can miss the point at will.
Roy is very well known for boring training sessions involving repetition of set moves, with deviation discouraged. Nowhere did I say he's a bad manager.

At international level denied the freedom to program players, as he enjoys at club level I question if his style would work.

Just listened to Roy Hodgson praise City for our performances this season for making it so difficult for the so called bigger clubs. He went on to say we're not getting the plaudits we deserve because everyone wanted the title race to go down to the last game and it now doesn't look that way and so everyones being negative towards us.

There's a hell of a lot of truth in that and not just to the outsiders but for those of us of a sky blue persuasion. It ain't all that bad!

Wouldn't it be refreshing to get more managers and pundits coming out with this sort of stuff. When you think about the praise showered on Spurs, where were the pundits lauding our performances in the first half of the season ?

When we beat the rags 6-1 the pundits should have been positively purring with our quality but instead absolutely nothing.

I'd have welcomed Roy Hodgson to City instead of Sven or Hughes. I think the budget and the ambition would've suited him well and we'd have given him more time than he got at Liverpool. Decent, honourable man who says it like it is. No bias. He's rarely ever blamed a Referee, either.

He's not the only one with that view. But he's the only one who's expressed it. Don't forget that the "pundits" are paid the stir the pot to build up the hype. Sadly too many blues fell for it.

We've had a very good league campaign, we're over 10 points up on last year. We got 10 points in the group stage of the chumps in our first season in it. We suffered the Teves debacle, at the same time as Yaya went off to the ACN and Vinny was red carded and banned for a good tackle. At the same time as Mad Mario got his ban and Dzeko forgot how to play.

All that and here we are second in the league and just a few points away from securing it. And as I'm an eternal optimist it's not mathematically impossible .................... well you know what I mean.

This just made my day.

Always like Roy and he's a bloody good manager. Red Dippers would be far better off if they'd kept him.
Agreed. Scousers never gave him a chance.
