Roy Hodgson 'Feed the monkey'

For me, the only suggestion that the monkey in space was referring to a black player was in the mind of the "senior player" that complained. Perhaps that might give the FA a starting point for their racism investigation?
Yes I can just see it now. A memo from the FA asking all the black players to report to FA HQ 9am prompt next Tuesday in order for them to carry out a series of interrogations, with mixed race players on stand-by in case they don't get to the bottom of it by lunchtime.

Utter bollocks this whole debacle. The character in Hodgson's joke wasn't a monkey because Andros Townsend is black, he was a monkey because THAT'S HOW THE FUCKING JOKE GOES!!!! If the joke had involved a dog, or a rabbit, then he'd have used a dog or rabbit when he told it! It's clear to anyone with half a braincell that Hodgson wasn't, in any way, bring race into this at all. Whoever this "senior player2 was who took offence needs to be roundly condemmed by everyone involved and, if I were Hodgson, and I knew who it was, they'd be watching the World Cup from the safety of their own sofa back in England. The last thing a squad needs is a snidey, backstabbing moron who doesn't have the balls to deal with the manager face to face, and who goes whinging to the press about things that go on in the dressing room. I can only assume it's someone who hasn't been getting too much gametime of late, and feels that if he can undermine Hodgson then maybe he'll be forced to step down. Or it's someone without the required intelligence to tie their own shoes.

Thread.
End of.

It really was a "drop your bacon sarnie" moment.
Stop being insensitive to our Jewish and Muslim posters.
I feel like joining twitter just so I can tweet my apology.
I suppose if you can make the effort to join Twitter to tweet your apology, I can make the effort to login and retweet it to my many many followers.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was a resentful, unused substitute that went to the london press , maybe even a teammate of Andros'...
Shouldn't really speculate though.

No matter what you say, there's someone, somewhere, that will take offence to it. I'm with Stephen Fry on this one, so what? When did it become my job to protect your delicate sensibilities? "I found what you said to be offensive". And? So fucking what? I guess you'll just have to be offended then. Your the one who has chosen to be offended by something, I haven't made you offended by what I've said, you've heard it and made the decision to be offended by it. Your reaction to something I say or do is just that, YOUR reaction. I have no control over the way in which you react to my actions so why, therefore, should I care what your reaction actually is?

What a daft piece of journalism, I bet the pc brigade are rubbing their hands to be offended. Nice to have a rat amongst the staff or players too.

The most ironic thing is that the press say using the word monkey insinuates its a black person. That's more 'racist' than any of it.

The value of the word has lost all meaning now. A person can be labelled racist by stupid pricks which puts the in the same category as a right wing extremist who collects Nazi memrobillia
