Rubbish Chants

That "Should have been 10" thing.
Was mildly amusing - now cringey.
It’s not so much that chant that I don’t like, it’s the fact we still sing it 12 years on (even when United have kicked off at the same time as us so not one United fan would hear it), when we don’t sing anything about being the one and only Centurions in English football history.

It’s a bit small-time that we place more importance on one result (that we’ve even done before - 1-6 in 1926, 0-5 in 1955) against United than on the greatest English league season ever.

The Wonderwall Kinkladze / Alan Ball chant is great.

But yeah, tragically it wasn’t sung in irony at the time I don’t think.
It sort of was and it sort of wasn't. When he came nobobody wanted Ball. He started the season awfully and that confirmed everyone's worst fears. Then around about winter time our form turned a corner a bit and he was spending time going arounf the supprter's clubs and people were startting to say "Maybe we've been a bit harsh on him".

The first time the song was sung was at Blackburn away in the depths of winter when it was given out as a sheet by some fans. But it was definitely sung a bit ironically, ie "just maybe we were all wrong about you".

We weren't of course.
