Nothing to do with optimism. This is one of the rare cases where I’ve actually watched him play extensively. Sure Benfica fans will say he has talent and potential, I mean we said the same about Iheanacho, Maffeo and a hundred other players. But the reality is that at this point he is not even better than JFE. Mangala level signing. I genuinely don’t understand how the fuck we are even linked with him. He’s the Leon Bailey of defenders. Hype for one season, but not actually any good.

Can’t see this guy outperforming Stones. We play a very high line and need pace at the back to deal with the counterattacks. This is what was so attractive about Koundé.
