Mate, read the post I quoted. When I said that I couldn't believe we would act in such a reckless fashion, I was responding to domalino's theory that it seemed like we were only signing him to get rid of otamendi. I then argued the reasons why we might want to sign Dias! I was baffled by it because he hadn't been mentioned all summer. This news came as a surprise to everyone.

All the money spent and we still have question marks over Mendy, Mahrez, Gundogan, Otamendi (looks like he's going), Cancello, etc. Not great scouting.

Defenders from Portugal haven't tended to do well.

Feel like we're going for this guy because he's cheaper than the rest.

Mahrez has been a success I'd say, twitter perception would make him look like he's Foden a couple years back knocking on the door for first team minutes. He struggles vs sides that sit back and shines vs sides that play expansive football, his stats last year explain themselves, he was good.

All these other question marks remain from football twitter weapons, you would think we are a midtable club given how some of the judgements are made on some of these players. I'd say we've done well this summer by getting a Spanish talent rated extremely highly in Ferran Torres, gotten a competent backup for Laporte in Aké. You can't tell me these question marks are entirely valid.

Mendy was also a great signing from us, we can do nothing about his knees, or with anyone who signs. It's a shame he's had surgery on both knees so he looks half the player we brought in, but that's just how it is sometimes, again, not the club or scouting team's fault.

This is one of the best squads in Europe, I wouldn't just start second guessing our board because they didn't go and get Koulibaly or Koundé, as much as I would have preferred either over Dias. Let's wait and see, we haven't picked up some scrubber from the championship for big money.

Lindelof was at Benfica yes, but him and Dias are entirely different kind of players.

Yes I watched him (and liked him) before he moved to United and they both give off the same vibes..yes,Dias has the better physical attributes and is more of a leader but in terms of loosing concentration and ball watching,they are very similar..Lindelof was decent in Liga NOS but has struggled at United so it's natural to be worried for Dias..Only hope is that he can rekindle his form from the Nations League Finals,
because he has stagnated in the last 12 months or so

Nobody bar City officials know who the main target is or who we are bidding for. Let’s just wait and see who comes in and give them the backing they need to start their new career here.

Who maybe were just trying to highlight to ANY clubs interested that they were willing to sell these players for the right price and were trying to make them look better by adding City’s name to story.
