The Lukaku signing was a strange signing, Not just because of how shit he is but he was never going to suit Chelsea set up. Part of me still thinks Tuchel had absolutely no say in that transfer. Such a waste of money.
It's hard to say really. It's been a constant debate over the years whether a player was a managed or board signing. Bad players tend to be labeled board as folks to tend to prefer absolving the manager of potential big mistakes. Lukaku does have all the hallmarks of a board signing. Really hope we can find a way to recuperate the Lukaku fee, as unlikely as if may seem.
