Rugby League Season 2023

Thoroughly deserved victory for Wigan. Took some defensive effort to reduce this Warrington team to the crumbs of offence they had.

I’m sure Warrington fans will have a little moan about a couple of the decisions but they will have to admit they were second best if they’re being honest.

Yeah Wigan were probably two scores better tonight but look at Forest v City; City were about six goals better than Forest and but Forest equalised, imagine their goal being chalked off for no reason. Some might say that Forest deserved a six goal drubbing that day but I say they deserved their draw so it doesn’t really matter that Wigan were convincing winners tonight because that Vaughan touch went backwards and we’d have had 4 minutes at 12-13 so you never know what might have happened.

That’s two games running Wire haven’t been good though. I’ll be surprised if Wire are top come the end of the season, we look too much of a small team. Good start to the season though.

I’m not so sure it went backwards. Too close to be confident either way I’d say. And they do tend to get given more often than not. No way the video ref could really overrule the on-field decision.

I’d be more annoyed at the last one if it hadn’t had come too late to make any difference.

I thought Wigan were permanently offside. It's as if biased Billy Thompson had come out of retirement

Yeah there were only about 20 seconds left, but again you never know: huge run up field keeping the ball alive and a wonder try or a wonder drop goal (we’ve seen them before) and it’s a win or GPET. You never know in sport.

Men against boys .
Incredible Wigan defence.
Cherry n Whites on fire Boom ! :)

Yeah Warrington are obviously better than last year but we're not as good as you're making us out to be. We're still top but were lucky against Catalans last week, were lucky against Salford earlier in the season and got a couple of narrow wins as well that could've gone the other way.

Also as PC mentioned earlier, Mikaele leaving is a big loss.

There was no way on God's good earth we were winning that tonight. It was just like "the good old days", as far as officiating Wigan games is concerned. It's almost as if Uncle Maurice was buried with a direct phone line to SLHQ, when his beloved side were threatened.
Offside/bounced ball for their first try. Where was the super slow mo, to judge. 2 quick looks at full speed?... pathetic
WTF was that penalty for in the second half?. If that was a penalty, there should be one for every completed tackle in every game.
As for the last disallowed try, words fail me.

Don't get me wrong, Wigan were much the better side, and we were masters of our own downfall.

Ho hum.

P.S

I've heard about some fella called Maguire, who's supposed to be "chomping at the bit" to start. When he does, someone give me a nudge. Thanks.

McGuire looks like he’s lost 2 stone of muscle.
