Rugby League Season 2023

Home city side and the place I spent too many weekends. Nice to see.

Penrith/saints later tonight should be a cracker
I’m getting up dead early in the morning.

It’s the Souths v St George Charity Shield game at 04.30 and then Penrith v St Helens for the World Club Challenge at 07.00.

Great win for the Salford lads!

It was always going to be tough, and we dug in to get our first win at the Leigh Sports Village.

I had a ticket for tonight, but gutted I came home from Arsenal with a flu bug for company!

Anyway, it's HKR at home on Thursday night, and a good chance to get off to a really good start!

Going to be a storming game this. Huge start for Saints forcing the mistake early.

It’s pissing down though.

Warrington are actually gonna bring some fans to the DW now they have won a game ……

Saints score the opener under the sticks, Welsby

0-6

Wire fans were a disgrace last season. The so called support was poisonous and many were put off by their so called fellow Wire fans and not necessarily the team’s performances and results and league position.

I called out a number for their lack of support on Instagram last season with their constant ‘Powell out’ ‘Kirkpatrick out’ (I also boringly notified them what the CEO’s job is as well as those idiots seem to think he’s only responsible for the team) after a defeat. Many moaning within seconds of defeats at non-televised away games calling the team shit when they clearly hadn’t even been to or seen the game. Games at the HJ as well where they were personally abusing players and fellow Wire fans.

Thankfully, most of them said they weren’t renewing their season tickets yet there have been more season tickets sold this season than since Covid so hopefully all the twats have gone and we’ve refreshed our support for the team.

Hopefully last season cleansed us of the twats.

Conrad Hurrell in in the corner. Saints started very well.

0-10

Penrith don’t look anywhere near as good a team without Dylan Edwards, Viliami Kikau and Koraisau.
