Rugby League Season 2023

Watched this, incredible game.

So far ahead of what Super League offers.
It is light years ahead.

Watching Wire v Saints here; it’s poor quality from both teams, especially Warrington. Compared to Newcastle v Canberra it’s Championship compared to Premier League.

If the World Club Challenge was mid-season when NRL teams were up to speed and not treating it like a pre-season friendly, SL teams would never win.

Toby King returning to Warrington after his 12 month loan at Wigan . King has been exceptional at Wigan this season some good news at last for Warrington !
Sort of, he’s good with ball in-hand but he’s quite a poor defender. Even Sam Tomkins said it when he was a pundit on a Wigan game recently and was analysing a try Wigan conceded. It was something along the lines of ‘and they tried to isolate King there because they know he’s not great in D’.

I was surprised Wigan went for him when Wire put him out there for a loan.

Do the Sky commentary team spend all day in the pub before games?

They are CONSTANTLY getting the team names mixed up and players’ names wrong.

About half a dozen times in this game they’ve said things like ‘Warrington are defending their line’ when it was Saints, ‘huge hit on Welsby’s head there’ when it was Dodd, ‘good tackle by Clark’ when it was Harrison… there are some games where they say things like ‘Castleford are looking to get back into this game’ when it’s Catalans v Salford!

Fucking useless they are

Bit odd that 1 plays 3 and 2 plays 4. You’d think 1 would get the lowest ranked team. It’s like rewarding 2nd for not finishing 1st.

A few pints pub then getting coach to Leigh Sports village , can’t be bothered getting the bus in the rain even if it’s only 2 stops . 3,500 Wigan fans there tonight got half the ground I think . Epicentre of Rugby League in Wigan borough !
