I have watched International rugby for years but listening to the radio the other day the guy kept mentioning a 'box kick'? Never heard of this before. Anyone enlighten me please? Thanks.

Definite red but not much sympathy for Farrell, it's the sort of snide shit that he himself is famous for.First Red for the USA. Just thuggery under the guise of sport. And the use of VAR that should be emulated in football. We see umpteen angles of the assault with commentary from the comm box and the ref. Nobody in any doubt as to what has gone one!
Its a kick from behind a scrum or ruck that is put up and designed to land in a certain area, hence the term box being used. Think of it like a square that its aimed at landing in. Usually put up by the scrum half who will have picked up from the ground at the base of a ruck and designed to pressure and isolate a player and part of the field while it is in the airI have watched International rugby for years but listening to the radio the other day the guy kept mentioning a 'box kick'?
