It didnt collapse the scrum on this occasion? You have to keep a scrum up, a collapsed scrum is a penalty

For the uninitiated, like me, what's a step over and what is the boring in? I watch scrums and can never tell who has committed a foul.Like most ref's, he didn't have a clue as to what was going on. The SA did a step over every time when Sinckler came on. Then you had the blatant boring in by Koch for the penalty.
Still, from being written off, to one dodgy penalty away from the final.
You're supposed to push straight, boring in means they push inwards towards the opposing hooker. Ireland's Porter does it all the time but is clever about it, got found out in the NZ game though & penalised quite a few timesFor the uninitiated, like me, what's a step over and what is the boring in? Seems like the correct call.

If you look closely, their hooker seems to slip and then puts his knee down, before Genge did. Perhaps the ref was only looking at our players!
Seems like the correct call.
Just saw that last scrum again, I get why he gave the penalty now, Genge does put his knee down and then drives across. It’s smart from SA too on the blind side but the moment he puts his knee down, it was only going one way.
