Rule Britannia

Straight from 'la Marseillaise
Once again it's one rule for the French and etc...etc...

''To arms, citizens!
Form your battalions
Let’s march, let’s march
That their impure blood
Should water our fields''

Slightly different though, as La Marseillaise was a call to arms to repel the invading Austrian and Prussian forces who were against the french revolution and dethronement of the Bourbons.

Used to love singing this in hymns when I was a kid. Are we now saying that it was like Hitler mind-washing prior to WW2?

Some see this as an alternative Irish anthem. What d’ye think.

When boyhood's fire was in my blood
I read of ancient freemen,
For Greece and Rome who bravely stood,
Three hundred men and three men;
And then I prayed I yet might see
Our fetters rent in twain,
And Ireland, long a province, be.
A Nation once again!

A Nation once again,
A Nation once again,
And lreland, long a province, be
A Nation once again!

No! No takers.
We’ll stick with this

Amhrán na bhFiann

At least you don’t understand it.
