Rummenigge ‘Europe, help Milan clubs’

You all laugh, and get riled, but he has a point. European football needs the Milan clubs. When clubs of this stature fall on hard times, the rest of European football's elite should help. If this means a one off pass into the Champions League, then so be it. The same can be said of the other members of Europe's footballing royalty (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United, Ajax) - competitions just aren't the same without them.

I'm sure the real football fans on here would agree that Liverpool's name being in the draw this year made the Champions League that much better. The same point could be made in reverse with the absence of Man Utd from the draw.

Everyone just needs to think of the bigger picture, which Rummenigge is doing, the bloke has a point.......

This is the guy that was all for it suggesting that the Dutch, Belgium and Austrian clubs should all get behind the FFP proposals.

Quote:

“I recommend that Uefa should think of harsh punishments, otherwise there will be no financial fair play.
“Let’s take the example of Manchester City. How does it work when you write about 200 million (£194.9m) loss? Like it was his money the fucking tool..

“The working group of the Uefa is required here to establish strict penalties. Some clubs want leniency, but in the final analysis, only the exclusion from the international competitions or the non-licensing for the European competitions or Champions League place (is appropriate.)”

The Penny must of finally dropped for the clown, only brought in by Gill, to help the rags out ringing in his ears or Maybe Bobby did have a word?

No divine right to European football, says Bayern Munich chairman

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says more needs to be done at Inter and Milan if they are to start challenging on the European stage in the future.

Milan and Inter can have no complaints about their lack of European football after years of mismanagement, says Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Both clubs face a battle to finish in the European places this season after calamitous campaigns in Serie A, sitting well off the pace of the league's European spots.

"It is a pity not only for the club but also for the Italian and European football," Rummenigge told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Teams like Milan and Inter are big names that are associated with the competition, but complaining [about not being there] does not help, something in the last five years has gone wrong.

"You have to have a clear plan with all the financial options available, but without going against the financial fair play.

"If you have a hole, you can't plug it without fresh money. I've read that Milan could be sold, but the new owner couldn't put too much capital in without going against the UEFA limitations.

"So it's up to us as big names find a solution to not penalise them more. There are clear, rigid laws but we must think about not hurting clubs too."

So is he going to help Notts Forrest and Villa get back to their pomp ?? Thought not !!

Oh, I do not know in what restaurant after how much wine that italian newsman found Kalle - he probably was just in the mood for some nostalgy about his own italian times as he was not just saying that about the italian clubs but things like: "it was a mistake to let Soriano go" (a Bayern kid that made it to the italian national team now and plays for Genova, but just did not have the class - and does not have it now - to play for Bayern) or things about the possible development of Shaqiri at Inter...

Some clubs are created more equal than others.

Some clubs, who were very successful in the past, have more armchair fans than others meaning they generate more income for UEFA from TV companies.
