Running thread

Brand new Parkrun opened just behind my house. Perfect!
Huge turn out due to other postponed parkruns nearby and it being the 1st.

your time in position 164 today at Whitecliffe Lake parkrun was 27:04. Well done on your 1st parkrun here! Service powered by aql.com

Happy Sunday everyone.

We've been talking a lot about injuries recently (sorry - my fault!). So I've put together some thoughts in this new video on the FLF channel. I'd be interested in hearing your views - we've already had some amazing insights from blues in the Facebook group.

Interested as always to hear your thoughts.

I'm hoping that City will cheer me up against The Cherries today and distract me from this Achilles issue for a bit.

Went to Peel Parkrun in the pouring rain. Thankfully it stopped once running commenced.

Time was 30:30 which was ok considering the large puddles and in parts slippy grass.

I've started giving Peel Parkrun a swerve when there's been substantial rainfall in the week leading up to the Saturday.
I've no issues with puddles in that I tend to plod through them rather than avoiding them. However, the football pitch at the top end of the park can get muddy and slippy, especially when churned up by 500+ runners twice.
In the past, they have implemented the "B" course which is all on tarmac, but I don't know how bad the mud has to get before they make that call.

EDIT: I've just seen it's cancelled next Saturday anyway because of a Salford University open day.

It’s the first time ive been to Peel when it’s been particularly wet. The top end of the course with the grass was bad. Like you, I will give it a miss in future when rainfall.

Congleton looks like a decent course. I may try that next weekend with no Satuday match.

I was there last week too. Managed a decent time despite nearly going arse over tit on the gravel path. Powered straight through the puddles on the second lap and that was better. We got there 20 minutes early and it was proper pissing it down. Dead lucky how it stopped for the run weren’t we!
On holiday in Tenerife at the moment (gutted to be missing Liverpool game) and joining up with the Amarilla Coastrun which is a 5km coastal run from Golf del Sur to Los Abrigos and back. It’s quite up and down and there’s even steps in one section. Still got a sore calf from last Sat so will be taking it easy.. and it’s going to be hot.
Have a great Parkrun today everyone.
