Running thread

Well from Sunday we can’t leave the house without a mask so I’ve got a feeling that means running is going to be neigh on impossible with a mask on.

Cheers and well done on your achievement.

Looking to do the Wales Coastal Path in one go. Got the first half planned with accommodation (mix of camping and B&B where there is that option). The path is way-marked and a mix of cliff walks, promenades, roads, fields and industry so looking forward to it. 870 miles over around 60 days.
Sounds a great trip mate. I finished on a lot of the South West Coast path, but I skipped a few headlands as I was totally done by then. I enjoyed the planning and training, so make the most of what you can get in this year. My first day for JoG to Wick was cup final day... made it to spoons in Wick found a table on my own just in time for kick off. Gutted when someone came and sat by me invading my space... until he revealed he was a blue! Had a great 3 hours with him and his rag mate! (Pete from Cornwall, if you’re reading this, I made it to the end!!). You’ll have some fantastic experiences and memories, and yes I am very jealous! If you do it for charity PM me

Many thanks for that. I might give you a PM nearer the time for tips on kit etc as I’ve never done anything remotely like this before. I’ve found some good resources, sites/books etc but any advice from you would be welcome.

Off to Heaton for my 50th 5k of lockdown, had 5 “rest” days where I’ve just had a long walk so 50 out of 55 as of today.

Actually having a “slowish” period at the moment where I’m struggling, even the first few hundred metres my body just doesn’t want to get going and I feel like I just want to fuck it off and stop, but trying to battle on through it. Got both kids with me today though so gives me something to try to cling on to as they head off in front of me.

26:29 and only 10 metres behind the kids so happy with that. Lovely day out there, perfect running conditions as not too warm.

On a side note, loads of ignorant twats in Heaton today, not even attempting to social distance and be aware, so certainly appears that lockdown is over for plenty of people.

No worries... I’d get used to carrying the kit you’re taking as soon as you can. You can ditch half the stuff then that you’re never going to need lol
