Running thread

Back on bike again today, feels good alternating between the running and cycling. 26 miles in 1:36:25. Averaging 16.4 miles per hour (moving time) which seeing as there were a couple of climbs around Oldham I’m happy about, want to get that average up to around 17.5 ideally.

Bike for me today too with 19 miles in 1.10 at 16 mph average.

Planning an 8 mile trail run tomorrow, depending on care commitments - elderly in laws living at home now who survived covid19....

Just back in from a 5k. Worked my bollocks off and came in 26:30. It’s just too fucking hot, even at 7:30am. Fuck this lock down, I much prefer just lifting weights and shouting “outfft” as I do it. I don’t usually feel as if I’m about to keel over at least.

I never knew that about sprinting and endurance but it’s good to know when the younger members of our running group are spouting off about how quick they are!!

I found the stair session on a running group Instagram page and started it last week for the first time so done 2 sessions now, used to do the odd running up stairs but nothing like the one I do now. Feel it in my lower abs today.
The article was in Mens Health, Sept 2019. Here's an extract.
