Running thread

Agreed mate, its a cracking thread.
The morning runs are belting at the minute, been saying the same myself all week about the going out in the dark and home to sunrise, the colds only a problem if your not moving imho, perfect weather for it.

Going to push myself to get up earlier and get myself out running. Everytime I do it I thoroughly enjoy it, especially at this time of year.

Just to bring a bit of positivity back to this thread. Lockdown has given me my running mojo back. It’s 7 years next month since I broke my hip (running btw).

I’ve not always been on this thread but in the main I find it inspiring with all types of runners/capabilities yet never seen anyone looking down on others.

This week it’s been freezing but I haven’t let it get in the way, where in the past I’d have used it as an excuse to stay in bed. Sun 10k; Tues 5k; today 4m; tomorrow 5m & 10m on Sunday. Some of the sunrises have been stunning - I love getting out in the dark and it being light by the time I get home. Can’t think of any better way of starting the day - well maybe one....

Superb mate, that is great to hear. I think most of us would agree the actual running is only part of going out running. The feel good factor of being outside, improvement to mental health, ability to de-stress after a tough day, and the pleasure from taking in new views, seeing wildlife and visiting woods/forest etc you may never see otherwise. All those combined help you get your mojo back.

Aye thats the battle mate, just going through my nightly head battle of what time to set the clock for, 4.45 it is, seen someone say the other week that running is like drinking in reverse, you feel like shit before it and great after.

That is a great way of looking at it.

I completed a 4 mile run in just over 32 minutes before dawn. So that's 10 miles in 5 days this week with no injury problems. I think that completes my return from injury.

To be sure though, I shall refrain from the usual longer run this weekend and enjoy some beer drinking in forward gear instead. I might even reach 3rd gear if City beat Spurs. :)

Best thread on here as nobody ever starts on each other.

To keep on topic I've been back at running the last 4 weeks with 3 or 4 4ks a week. Not had a drink since we put United out of the cup and i'm 7 pounds lighter than I was at Christmas.
You fucking what mate!?

Aiming to clock up 100 miles for the year by this weekend. Which is a marked improvement on my 100 miles in the last 6 months of last year.

Is it bad to have high bpm's after most runs? I just can't seem to get my heart rate right down.
