A bit of a warm and sweaty Peel Parkrun in Salford completed this morning in 30:22. Was a bit disappointed that my arch nemesis overtook me in the final stages today!
The female geese are on the nest with eggs, the male bird guards the immediate area with vicious hissing noises and an aggressive no nonsense stance.Reverted back to an Irwell-side training run this morning from Castlefield to adjacent to Gnome Island in Salford Quays and back.
Perfect conditions for it. Not too warm, but quite sunny and no wind. And more importantly, no random Canada goose attacks this morning!

Stay safe Blue Runners !!
It's an annual thing each nesting spring.some male birds just hiss, other demonic birds actually chase.....it's the Carrion Crows brown rats red fox and grass snake they should really be wary of,but of course poor humans are easy targets!I had one chase me down the Bridgewater Canal towpath last week. Luckily I was able to outrun its beak!

Apologies if this has been asked before but does anyone have any recommendations for running trainers, I'm currently getting ready for my first 10k event and feel like I need an update from the old New Balances I'm currently using

The answer to this is always to go to a specialist running shop and try out loads of pairs with the help of the staff. Shoes that are fantastic for me could be awful for you, or vice-versa.Apologies if this has been asked before but does anyone have any recommendations for running trainers, I'm currently getting ready for my first 10k event and feel like I need an update from the old New Balances I'm currently using
A few years ago (when I started running again seriously) I did exactly that and they put me on a treadmill in the shop and videoed it to analyse how I ran. from that they were able to recommend a particular type of trainer which I've been using ever since with no knee or foot problems at all. Now on my 5th pair as I replace them after about 500 miles. The answer to this is always to go to a specialist running shop and try out loads of pairs with the help of the staff. Walking Park run tomorrow morning!
Which one are you heading to? Aiming for Peel Park unless it rains too much tonight as I struggle in "muddy corner", in which case I'll head to Stretford.
If I’m up I may pop down and do it with you @WorsleywebI am doing Heaton Park. I will literally come last in the whole event but I don’t care.
Nice work. I noticed you mention this "arch nemesis" of yours pretty much every run, can you give us some more info? Do you both have costumes? Is there real hatred involved? Does he/she/it/they/them/those know about the rivalry?29:42 at Peel Parkrun this morning, which is my fastest time since I had man flu. Finished ahead of my arch nemesis too!

When I say with you I mean just run it and walk past you on the way out as you do angina hill the second time…
17 km today, but noticed my socks are not stopping blisters. Any recommendations?
I am wearing Gymshark/Under Armour socks that are supposed to be blister preventions
