Brighton Marathon summed up in a picture

Felt fine 16-17 miles then cramped up really bad - was stop/start till the end

Finished around 5 hours

Disappointed but not to fussed , another Marathon ticked off
You did it though! You could easily have given up. It's these tough ones that show true strength of character.

Great effort mate considering the pain. I've been there before, and only when it happens do you realise just how far that final 10 miles is!!! Well done for getting it finished. Any mistakes made in hindsight or just one of those days? Got to say when I did the Manchester marathon last year, I learnt from a lot of my past mistakes and whilst it still fucking hurt over the last 5 miles. It was a lot more manageable!

Hats off to you continuing and finishing it after the wheels have fallen off. Hopefully you’ve managed to avoid any lasting injuries.

Whilst training well I’ve also been burning the candle at both ends these last couple months
Had a couple stag doos, mates nights out and got carried away and last weekend I had a big jolly up on a work trip - and this time last week I was laid up in bed with a chest infection
So prep wise it’s not been great and paid the price
