Running thread

Very slow 5k today with just 11 days till London Marathon. Wore my new trainers, Brooks 15 Ghost, they seemed comfortable and caused no issues. The closer I get the more apprehensive I get about my pace. Trust the training is the advice, we shall see.

Not overly happy to be allocated the 'Red' start..
Good luck mate

An hour away from landing in Boston for the marathon on Monday, imposter syndrome kicking in already. Two I've spoken to on the way are shooting for sub 2.30!! Off to see kipchoge later and again tomorrow, I'm sure he will know how to get over imposter syndrome!!! Trying to figure out something original to ask him, "do you know a pub showing the city game" is the best I've got

Mate keeps yapping on at me to. Think I just need to get times out of my head and complete one. He's about 2 stone lighter than me and a whippet. Can keep up with him on flat and downhill but he pulls away from me when going uphill. My Garmin has been very motivating for me personally as I never ran outside up until about 5 years ago but it can make me a bit OCD about stuff.
I'm doing my 3rd on Sunday & I'm 47 now. Did in 3.56 last year, aiming for 3.45 this year.
It's a great experience and it gives you so much confidence when you get over the line, only advice I can give is do the training. I just picked a training programme and stuck to it like glue. Do that and the day looks after itself.

Best of luck mate, been great following your journey

20.6 mile done today. 2h 58m. Last of the big uns done. Need to start tapering now.

Also walking like I've been dry bummed by a grizzly bear. Can anyone get me a beer, from the fridge, please?
Get yerself a hot epsom salt bath, and move about as much as possible mate, sitting still is the last thing you want to do
