Running thread

I was in the same boat only weeks ago. Amazing how quickly stamina improves. 5k is a tempo run now

First day today with couch25k podcast and found it pretty easy which is a good sign.

I carried on walking to do my usual 8 mile distance.

Onward and upwards.

Manchester done, 3:58. New PB but disappointed as went off to quick and paid with cramp in both calf’s later. Ah well can’t complain too much.

Well played mate. Under the 4 hours. Awesome time.
Was it a good vibe ?

Yes mate it is, couple of sections the crowds were off the pavement and it got narrow, felt like the Tour de France lol.
Loads of support and banners, best one read

‘Never trust a fart after 20 miles’

Haha.

Just a warning. My mate was about 18 stone and took up running 2 years ago. Now 13 stone but has been told today needs 2 new hips!

Not sure it is that good an idea If you overweight.

Well now that the marathon is out of the way it's time to get the bike out and get ready for the 'Tour De Manc'. only 3 weeks this Sunday, 103 miles around the boroughs of Greater Manchester.
Then back to running 5 and 10k's through the summer.

Fitness freak! Fair play bud and keep this up.

2 days till my big one.

Being overweight previously would explain him needing new hips, not exercising.
