Running thread

I’ve actually got a pair for my bike, bit long up the arm for running I think, and a pair for swimming, did think I might overheat in those but if these don’t work tomorrow I’ll give them a go.

Sorry mate I forgot you cycled and swam so you probably well up on gloves etc. Hope you get it sorted

Managed a couple of runs this week 3 & 5 miles, I currently run in asics gel pulse 10. But I need some new trainers. Any suggestions please? I’m planning on doing some running along the side of the canal to vary things so possibly trail shoes? Are these suitable for short runs on the road also as it is a 1 mile run to get to the canal

Trail shoes certainly suitable for short distance on roads. I run trails rather than road whenever I can and run from my house down a few streets before I get off road. I got some trail shoes from Decathlon in May last year and they were excellent. Have a look here.

I might try some of their road shoes next.

Cheers for that will have a look at some trail shoes, much nicer running along the canal with a bit of scenery!

I run in nike trail 2, on my second pair now, they great on pavements etc when the weather is cold and icy, and also great for trails, very comfortable as well. Worth a look, should be able to find them for around £100 but Id say they worth it as mine get some hammer but not a bother with them

I’ve got a pair of those kiprun on that link at £34.99 offer, and they do me fine @shady - use them on roads and paths at this time of year too when there is mud water leaves etc about, and they are an excellent buy, a good reliable ‘workhorse’ go-to pair of running shoes

What type of shorts should I get my inner thighs were all sore and slight rash after a ten miler today to many to choose from cheers
Yeah I’d always use under shorts, the thin tight fitting ones, under my normal shorts for any run.
If I was doing a decent distance eg a half marathon, I’d always resort to the Vaseline tub as well for down there (as well as the nipple area!)

I went through the same pain last year with chaffing etc and bought something like these. I have had no issues since wearing these...

ladies and gents. does anyone recommend any long sleeved thermal baselayers ?
Decathlon do a thermal running top thats pretty decent, if anything its too warm, ive stopped wearing mine on long runs as its just too hot, but they are decent for short runs, has thumbholes and other tricky bits and pieces, probably the best one ive had if it wasnt so fuckin warm
