Well done mate
I just about did it
3.56 but last 2 miles were absolutely hell

I was 3.56 as well mate! Was hoping to be more around 3.45 but just wasn't feeling it at all. Abandoned that very early and just stuck to a steady sub-4 pace to bank a little bit of time. Managed to hold it until 5k out, gritting my teeth through Sale and up to Stretford!

Chuffed to bits though. Never felt such pain as when I stopped after the line though. Except for this morning when the Guinness and dehydration caught up with me.

The bit around alty and timperley, then brooklands road was brutal.
Once I was through that I was OK.

Not sure this Adidas take over fits in with my "anything to do with utd" ethos, but saying that I'm still rough as toast from the after party from Sunday so entering another mara is far from a priority at the minute!!

Week 6 day 2 of HM training plan steady/tempo 5 miles. Not my furthest not my fastest but amazing run. This day 5 years ago I collapsed just about to enter Stamford bridge for city game and was rushed into hospital with perforated bowel. Had emergency surgery, coming out of theatre into HDU took collapsed lung. Once that cleared up got MRSA and in insolation room of HDU for almost 2 weeks with no visitors. Then on normal ward for week before being sent home. Couldn't walk to end of my road for over week. Eventually making it to coffee shop and sit reading for hour to get strength back to walk the couple hundred metres home again. Almost 3 months off work. If someone told me then I'd enjoy running so so much I'd have thought that they were crazy.

Very inspiring stuff. Keep up the great work.

Amazing stuff mate, keep it up. The human body is a pretty remarkable thing, but so much is in the mindset and if you keep telling yourself how far you've come there will be no stopping you!

Worryingly since I did the marathon on Sunday my right knee is really sore and doesn't seem to be getting any better.
At what point should I be concerned? I've already had 1 op on it in 2013 to sort a meniscus tear out.

Got some new running shoes a couple of weeks ago, went for a short run on my lunch break last Wednesday, rolled my ankle after 1km!

Swelling has been pretty bad, along with the bruising, and still looks a mess 9 days later. Pain suddenly increased last couple of days so went A&E yesterday and turns out I have a small avulsion fracture of the fibula. 6 weeks recovery apparently.

Oh well, feet up watching football and eating chocolate all weekend!

Hope you have a quick recovery.

That's shit news.
I've had issues with my right knee for past 2 weeks after Manchester Marathon.
Only just sorted it and back out running.

I'm on a short break in the Lake District, and did this 6.5km run yesterday in the evening sunshine. Lovely scenery, and an enjoyable run, even with that long uphill section.

However, my Garmin watch has messed up the lap markers on my run. The 2km mark is under the 3. The 4km mark is under the 5. The 1km mark is at the start and end, and it's missed out the 6km altogether.

Is this something I should report to Garmin, or should I see how my next few runs turn out? This is my second run with a new watch. I had no problems with the Garmin watch it replaced, and the first run with it was ok.

I was going to say that it's probably the effect of the mountains but Cartmel isn't in the Lakes. Are you planning to venture into the north Lakes? It could be worth testing it among the fells.

I've done the same run in reverse direction this evening. Same result. I think I'll report to Garmin as a fault.

Home tomorrow, so I won't be able to do further testing right now.

Kind of gone off the boil lately this thread, which is a shame as it was a great inspiration to me when I first started out.
Done both a 5k and 10k pb this weekend, parkrun yesterday 17.34 and 10k at Alderley edge bypass this morning 37.55 which was crazy as I was running empty big style, busy day yesterday took the kids out and only had a plate of chips all day, and then watched the mighty blues with a pile of cans, spent the last six miles of the 10k wanting to throw up!!
