Running thread

I've been a bit lazy with running since completing the Rome Marathon 2 weeks ago only done a total of 6 miles running in the 2 weeks. After training for 2 marathons which were 19 weeks apart I have enjoyed the down time but it's time to start running again.

I have signed up for the Rememberance Sunday Windmill 10k on 8/11 and the Conway half the following week as both will probably sell out. I will sign up for other half marathons over the next few weeks. Looking forward to getting back to running but not having to do 45 - 50 miles per week

Yes mate thanks.
Ive done all I can in last 3 months.
I want 3.50 and confident I can do it.
I'm running Manchester aswel. Been running 3 times a week since getting back into it furthest I've ran is 32km 2 weeks ago, done a few half marathons and 25KM runs with a range of 5k-15k runs inbetween each week. I'm reducing now and done 21.25km Monday in 2:04 with elevation gain of 322m. Got a sports massage Saturday then 2 short runs Wednesday and Saturday before the biggen Sunday.
I'm aiming for anything under 4:30ish but happy to just get around. Last did 1 in 2018 in 5:21

Shin still bothering me 4 weeks after first issue. Went to A&E a week ago and got an x-ray, no stress fracture or anything else appeared, so supposedly just tissue damage.

Been doing a fair bit on the bike, but only 3 short runs in last month.

Did 4k on Wednesday which was ok, but losing confidence that I will manage a marathon.

Good luck mate

Good luck anyone doing any races this weekend. Plenty on including London Landmarks and Brighton. I've just done a Strava plan of 1.75 miles easy, 2.5 fast, walk 2 mins then 1.25 easy

Been a good week this week, 26.5 miles on Bank Holiday Monday, 8k recovery run midweek and 30 miles over the the South West Coast Path on Saturday.

A bit foolish, risking injury, and the left side of my knee was hurting but hopefully I’ve got through relatively unscathed. Strength work today, possibly a swim tomorrow and then hopefully start again.

Have a look on the Youribe channel ‘running with Ash’ I do quite a few of his strength workouts and he does cover exercises for shins, foot, ankles etc. Videos range from 10-30 mins, exercises not over complicated and they do really help.

@PragueBlue - how's the running going. Are you making any progress?
Been making good progress (in my eyes at least). This morning I just completed my first 5km without stopping/walking.

I got round in about 34 mins but I needed a good sit down after to get my breath back. I'll give it another try on Monday, weather permitting.

I can't say I enjoyed it while I was running but I did feel good after I had finished if that makes any sense. Maybe when it gets a bit easier it will become more enjoyable during the run.
