Rush or The Scorpions?

Anyway in answer to the original question. Definitely Rush over the Scorpions for me. No contest.
Been listening to The Scorpions all day (most of it is completely new to me) and I think they're pretty decent. The later albums sound like the Manics and I've reached the late eighties and nineties (I'm working backwards in time) and it's very definitely a whiff of Van Halen, Aerosmith and Whitesnake - all bands I can listen to, but never in much quantity. They're obviously very good at what they do but they're not as inventive as Rush, but I still haven't heard the earlier stuff yet.

If I was gonna take one and only one Scorpions album to a desert island it would be the World Wide Live album. For me that is/was the band at their peak.

I prefer Rush - especially up to Moving Picture. Started sounding more like the Police after that.

I like the Scorpions - That Lovedrive cover though?? What were they thinking?

Good morning. If you have a spare hour and a half or so, there's a new interview with Alex Lifeson on you tube.

It largely centres around the solo project Victor, but also talks about Rush and the passing of Neil Peart.

Cheers I'll pick that up later.

About 5 years ago we were standing at a luggage carousel at Las Vegas airport when an advert came on for Billy Idol ( who we had seen a few weeks prior in Manchester). We got chatting to a guy who was also waiting and he was saying how he hoped to get to see Billy on one of his days off. had a good chat with the guy and he said they were playing the house of blues. Totally none the wiser that we were chatting to Rudolf Schenker from the Scorpions. We only worked it out when we got to the Hotel and looked to see who was playing the house of blues.

Seemed like a really decent guy from that 10 min chat.

Both bands are awesome but I prefer the Scorpions... So many great balads from the Scorps...

One of my favorites off their best album...
