I think its probably less likely in their own country, just because the vast majority won't want to be involved, not saying there won't be any trouble, but its less likely.

Should they have the WC ? No, at least not until they sort out their racism (slim chance of that).

Would I go (even if I actually cared about England) ? No.

Pretty much this. I'm sure Russia and Russians could be lovely, but I don't really give a flying fuck for England and I certainly won't be heading out there in 2 years.

No Russia got the world cup because there were those in FIFA who received some very large and stuffed brown envelopes. Many of the recipients are still there and dont want Mr Putin to come asking for the contents of those envelopes to be returned with interest, hence rioting Russian nutters kicking the shit out of a few England fans and some Muslims, even shooting down the odd airliner or invading and annexing part of another FIFA members country will fall way short of what is required to consider taking the tournament of them.

However lets not think that FIFA will easily get away with this. Should the proof and confirmation that it was Russian forces that shot down the Malaysian jet then surely the nations who had people on board will be compelled to boycott the event. So that would be Holland, England, Germany, Australia, Belgium all likely qualifiyers...

With two years to run before these finals there could be other events worldwide that make Russia an even more unwise choice of host for the competition.

Its very clear that even now Russia isnt going to be seen as a welcoming venue by many nationalities and thus I can see numerous games being played in sparsely populated stadiums in places that are hard to get to, devilishly expensive, and not alot to do.

FIFA of course know that they can also claim with some justification that it would be almost impossible to move the competition and this late stage and that they are morally obliged to fulfil their contract with Russia to host the World cup finals.

Me and my wife went to Moscow when we drew CSKA the 1st time around. Had 3 nights there and we were surprised at how good a time we had. the younger Russians were very friendly from our experience and helped us navigate their underground on a few occasions.

However I can't see other cities in Russia being like Moscow and to be stuck in some shithole wondering whether you're going to be ambushed at any minute doesn't sound like fun to me.

Stay in England and support in the bars and pubs at home in 2018 and we'll see how Fifa like seeing half empty stadiums for their shiney World Cup.

Mentioned it a few times on here, but Russia is without doubt the biggest shitstain of a country ive ever visited. Ive been to some right dumps too! Its the arsehole of the world and the people are twats. you get your fair share of twats in all countrys i know, but Russia is something else. 90% of the people there are just pricks. Was with my mate, who is black, and the amount of shit he got just walking around red square in moscow was fucking disgusting. And thats a tourist trap! The biggest issue facing Russia must be the systematic doping of athletes - which probably includes Football. Hopefully their athletes will miss the Rio Olympics - we just need their Football Association to be implicated - the Sports Minister is presently being dragged into the row - even FIFA can't ignore cheating on this scale but I wouldn't rule it out.

Nothing will happen in Russia. The russian policemen are not joking around. Even their hooligans only fight outside the stadium and only between them, no trouble for random citizens. The French police is a joke.
