Russia detects possible signal from "sun like star"

Are you telling me that **** David Blaine is Jebus?

You've taken that too far. I will never get back to sleep now. What a thought to put into anyone's mind never mind a person with the plethora of my mental issues.

Thanks a bunch.

I agree with Magicpole entirely. Anyone who harbours religious views is imho simply deluded. I mean no offence in saying that, it's merely my opinion that there is no god and anyone therefore who believes there is one is wrong.

And as Magicpole pointed out, it's not surprising that people DO believe it if they had the doctrine rammed down their throat from birth. It becomes a self-perpetuating lie that's handed down through the ages from one generation of people who have been conned, to the next.

And when I think of the misery and countless wars and millions of lives lost in the name of some entity that does not exist, it beggars belief really doesn't it. No-one can say for sure whether a god exists or not, but what we can say for sure is, we'd be a lot better off if we all stopped believing that one did.
All religions should be called mythology, like the old Norse and Greek and other Pagan religions are.

Just a reminder that religion is all based on Faith. Thats Faith...not proof.

There's a reason for that.

obviously you have done your own research and don't rely on the written word of others too much.

Oh the irony.

I'm starting to become a little more Agnostic as I get older, after all you can't prove there isn't a God anymore than you can prove there is

It's impossible to disprove a negative.

I agree with this...Jesus...a raconteur who agitated the masses enough that he was branded a trouble maker and crucified by the Romans.

I thought Mohammed on the other hand is proven to have existed?

Mohammed was a real person. He definitely existed. I will now give my views on him.

And that's all I have to say about him. For obvious reasons.

A quick look around this forum will demonstrate a complete lack of faith from most city supporters

However it is impossible to have a reasoned debate with someone who trots out incorrect bollocks like 'it's impossible to disprove a negative'

Go on then, assume God doesn't exist. How would it be possible to disprove its existence?

To say that it could be done is indeed bollocks from you.

Nobody is trying to prove he didn't exist. That can't be done, the same as no one could prove that Helen of Troy, or as I call her HOT, doesn't visit me from Olympus now and again for a weekend of classical sex.

What you have to do is look at what evidence there is to substantiate his existence. Not what we gave to disprove it. The onus us on the believer to prove he exists. So far, fuck all. In fact, less than fuck all.

We only have a book and the faith of those who do think he exists but nothing else.

There is no historical record of a guy called Jesus. Why would that be?

He attracted crowds of up to 30,000, allegedly. He performed miracles. Raised the dead. Was great at party's if the booze was looking under threat. He fed five thousand people with a couple of morning rolls and a tin of sardines. He claimed to be the messiah, a long awaited Jewish warrior to smite Rome. He was tried by Pilot a real person, who referred to him as King of the Jews. He rose from the dead and took deity class up to heaven.

All that and no one wrote about him. Pilot was supposed to have usurped roman law and let the crowd decide who be spared. No communication of Pilot mentioned him.

The Roman Empire was not noted for it's leniency to perceived threats, yet here we are to believe they let him wander about. He went into Bethlehem on a donkey with the place jumping and laying palms on the ground before him.

Yet, there was not one Roman who asked, who is this **** I think we need to keep an eye in him.

This implausible situation is further compounded by a book allegedly the word of god that showed god must have had a very bad day as it's full of utter bollocks about everything.

You can't eat shrimps, or bacon. But you can smash your child's head off a wall. You can't talk back to your parents or you can be killed. You can keep slaves and hit them with a rod but don't kill them. If your neighbour is gathering sticks on a Sunday, stone him to death.

Your wife is no better than your livestock and offering up your daughters to be raped by a mob who want to bugger a couple of male angels that just happened to be passing through is fine.

It says the earth is flat, the sun orbits us and we are in fact the centre of the universe.

Imagine you were a juror and someone came out with a story like that to make the case for his pal being real.

You couldn't prove he wasn't in an absolute sense, but you would need to skim over a whole load of circumstantial evidence that screamed this is a whole load of made up shite.

And don't forget the talking snake or Moses having a natter to a burning bush or Noah being 900 when he built his floating zoo, or the dragons and giants and unicorns.

Absolute proof is not the objective and it really shouldn't be necessary. It really shouldn't. If you take all of the above and the million other made up bollocks and factually wrong stuff it's as clear as day it's not divine.

I am away to shag HOT. Prove I'm
Not.
