Russia detects possible signal from "sun like star"

Haha maybe ;-)

I still think that a God is 'highly unlikely' but have to cede that it is still possible that we had a creator, whether god or alien race...maybe i'm just going a bit David Icke hahaha

Oh fuck no. Stay agnostic with a rational if hedging attitude.

This was difficult for me to explain away when I was young.

If God is able to prevent evil, but not willing?
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?

Devil's (Irony) Advocate

Say if 'God' was just a creator rather than an omnipotent being that watches over us

Say if something just created the Universe and left us all to it?

Its all just chance and probability.....energy just exists.......it's how it is............space just exists

Get me some fucking drugs

No they didn't, but more than Christianity certainly did. I apologise if you're not a monotheist but given the way you've posted I doubt you're a deist or a polytheist.

Not a single thing I said insinuated I was a scientist or that me questioning your shite term was being taken as personal to me. Just for the record your use of the term "Neo-Scientist" as a negative to the people trying to find out the truth in the universe is so laughable, it's the essence of ignorance.
Wasn't dissing Scientists per se, or science. Big love there. Wasn't aware of it being a derogatory term.
And don't worry too much about what brand of deity I'm crewed up with. It doesn't affect you.

We can say anything.

What we have to ask is why would he bother.

Why create all of that for basically no reason. Just because he could?

Look what I done, I am now putting my feet up and you can all go fuck yourselves.

God is a human invention. It us easy to just say god done it.

How did he do it?

Why did he do it?

Why did he let people make up how he did it knowing they were talking bollocks but didn't point out glaring inaccuracies?

Did he create all the other aliens out there too and if we went there would we see aliens on their telly's praising Jesus and asking for donations to buy a new spacecraft?

God/s are man made and require faith, at the threat if eternal damnation to keep people in line.

It was a winning combo and still
works today.

And don't eat any fucking shrimp or bacon. If you know what's good for you.

I'm starting to become a little more Agnostic as I get older, after all you can't prove there isn't a God anymore than you can prove there is

The people not only claiming that there is a God, but that they know what he thinks, are the people who's responsibility it is to prove their claims.

If I went into Greater Manchester Police headquarters claiming I'd seen a 20 ft alien swimming down the ship canal I think it's fair to say they'd demand some proof before they did anything about it - those that make extraordinary claims are the ones who need to present the evidence.

As it is scientists are the ones constantly trying to find a way of proving or disproving a deity, not the morons who made it up (I'm aware they're dead). We've got to a stage where there are very good theories that suggest the universe can start from nothing and that God isn't needed. Where God isn't needed and there's no evidence of there being a God, logical people always will move towards atheism.

Whether God has influence in human circumstances is a different argument and just by looking around I think its a fair comment to say "I hope not".

Or maybe it was just some 'force' that doesn't think like we do and had no reason to justify itself for creation. Perhaps it was a force whose very farts created life...that's what i'm saying

The standard full bearded God can be laughed at...but i'm open to the idea that there may be bigger forces at work than the human race...it's arrogance to think the universe revolves around us and our perception of it.

It's not derogatory and most scientists would probably laugh if they were criticised by religious people just for carrying out their experiments. I'm still allowed to call out a term that makes no sense and has no purpose.

Well that last comment would all depend on which brand of the supernatural you follow. If it's a monotheism then your specific cult does affect me, unfortunately.

I agree that it absolutely doesn't revolve around us. We are part if it. Made from stars.

That's magical enough for me without having to hope an invisible force us pulling or ignoring strings it created.

Where did he/she/it come from?

That's a question your position has me asking you.
