Russia detects possible signal from "sun like star"

It's not derogatory and most scientists would probably laugh if they were criticised by religious people just for carrying out their experiments. I'm still allowed to call out a term that makes no sense and has no purpose.

Well that last comment would all depend on which brand of the supernatural you follow. If it's a monotheism then your specific cult does affect me, unfortunately.
You'll never know.

The only thing a believer will accept that can come from nothing is a god/force.

How can the Big Bang come from nothing?

How can god?

Don't like that though. That means they have to create the circumstances right off the top of their heads..

Science can't get away with that.

How the fuck can they possibly know anything they say is true?

The assertions of people, based upon faith and their daily conversations with whatever variety of god they happen to know is the true god because they happen to be part of it is the most irrational, and I have to say less than clever set of assumptions man has devised.

My gods the real god your gods a **** and you will burn forever because you can't see that.

I agree that it absolutely doesn't revolve around us. We are part if it. Made from stars.

That's magical enough for me without having to hope an invisible force us pulling or ignoring strings it created.

Where did he/she/it come from?

That's a question your position has me asking you.

I'm just looking at all the possibilities...of course it's likely there is no 'God' as such...but it can't be discounted and you certainly cannot definitively say there isn't..

The very fact we are literally made from stardust is as you say incredible enough...something happened in the beginning...of that everyone can agree...but what set off the chain of events that started the ball rolling...that's the ultimate question that fascinates me

Devil's (Irony) Advocate

Say if 'God' was just a creator rather than an omnipotent being that watches over us

Say if something just created the Universe and left us all to it?
For the sake of argument, if you were right with this, why bother believing? If God is not omnipotent or doesn't care, isn't that effectively the same as saying he does not exist?

That's the golden ticket.

I'm not a believer...was a total atheist up until a few months ago, now feel that being agnostic is like slipping on a pair of comfy slippers ;-)

When you go up to the pearly gates clutching your spiritual comfy slippers as proof. God will Take one look
At you and say.

They don't cut it here matey. I know you're hedging your bets hoping I'm
Not in an a Old Testament mood. Take those slippers and jog downstairs. I hope they're heat resistant :)

That's the way it will play.
