It does smack of hypocrisy, doesn't it? There will be those who say that in ''the good old days''™, hooligans only attacked one another. Bollocks. I don't think anyone would seriously think that no police (don't remember that many stewards being around back in the 70's) got battered back then. Or innocent fans.
