Russian invasion of Ukraine

R v Smith. Superior orders are no defence.
Smith was acquitted.

I'm not sure how a 1900 British Empire case helps a Russian soldier - or any soldier - in a situation where the choice is obeying an order to commit a war crime or disobeying it and being shot.

Cuntism is the only ism going on at the moment
The sanctions will be the end to him, even if he did take Ukraine, he simple does not have the money or resources to invade another country. Ukraine will drag on and on, and they will simply run out of money.
That's my sense too. The tragedy is the deaths and destruction in the meantime. We could publicly declare a bounty of £100m on Putin's head. One of his friends will bite. Oligarchs to pay.

And you need to add on the 8 months of the phoney war to that too, because of course Britain and France didn’t start significantly fighting at the formal declaration of war in September 1939.
Well, quite. The Poles were wondering why we hadn't arrived to liberate them.

I hope so mate, i understand the brainwashing/propaganda issue in Russia but if the people don't rise up then their country will turn to shit
I honestly don’t believe that ‘the people’ will rise up - if there is a leadership change, it will come from within the inner circle. Hopefully that happens.

Thought I heard yesterday that an American has already put a £1m price on his head and said if we can get a thousand to do similar, then it's £1b.
