Russian invasion of Ukraine

If, god forbid, Russia managed to subdue Ukraine, they would have one hell of a job to govern it. The prospect of repressive barbarity will galvanize Ukrainians. They will never surrender.
That reminds me of a famous speech made in 1940, part of which I have copied below.

"we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender"

Just as true today as it was in 1940, in very similar circumstances. The only difference is that it is already taking place in he Ukraine.

No fly zone and NATO army In Ukraine ?

No, logistics, intelligence and offensive weaponry. Germany is transferring 56 light armoured vehicles via Czech which is a step in the right direction. Polish MiG’s, whatever.

The battle will switch to Donbas and we need to back the Ukrainians to drive out the Russians.

Also, and yes, I appreciate the logistics and lack of infrastructure, we (Europe) cannot keep paying for Russian energy - assuming we are still paying, given the demand to pay in Roubles.

In his speech to UK MPs, Zelensky made extensive use of that speech, adapting it to his circumstances. Very smart.

The fight in Donbas will be much harder.
