Russian invasion of Ukraine

Once it’s in the system I hen it may well have been.

If you give me a tenner and I spend £8 that day on a bottle of cheap Cab Sav, it doesn’t matter if I used that exact ten pound note or not, I can rationalise the fact you bought me the bottle.

But if I gave you 10 euro and you had other bills to pay, would you buy the bottle of cab sav?

My point is Russia got money it kind of is owed whereas Ukraine is receiving additional payment

The chezchs are sending Tanks, Bo jo is considering sending armoured vehicles. Which means we will, he can't keep anything secret can he.
Why should it he a secret ? It might force the europeans to do more. It might frighten the shit out ofvthe Russian soldiers.
I'd be telling the world we are sending hundreds of tanks, guns, soda streams and Haribo. Mis information in a war us a great weapon.

Widely reported:
The EU has paid €35 billion for Russian energy since the start of the war compared to the €1 billion it has sent to Ukraine in the form of foreign aid, Josep Borrell, the EU's top diplomat, has said.

So about 1Bn euros a day.
Eh ? I was replying to a poster who said the eu had sent a billion pounds of aid per day. They haven't. That is the total amount.

If you rely on another country to source your energy, then you are always vulnerable to pressure. The obvious solution is to remove or lessen reliance on fossil fuels. As I said, no one is invading anyone for their wind farms.
Renewable energies sadly need a much higher amount of rare metals like Neodym, Palladium, Scandium, Iridium and guess where a lot is already coming from - Russia, China...
Out of the pan into the fire. Nice times ahead.

This is something Zelenskyy has brought up in the past, but I think it's worth repeating.

No one is ever going to be able to claim "never again" again with a straight face or talk about preventing atrocities. We know what's happening in Mariupol, we know what's going to happen over the next few weeks.

Peskov, Putin’s spokesperson, admitting on Sky to ’significant losses of troops’ but that they were pulling out of areas as some form of ‘goodwill’ gesture.

Been watching some reporting from Russia in recent days, including interviews in the streets, and you can sense that some people are starting to realise that things have been going horribly awry.
