Same as Hitler. Too much power with one man. No one ever questions and they start believing their actions totally. Rather than try to save Germany and the German people in late 1944 when it was clear all was lost, he basically completely obliterated his own nation by carrying on. Putin won’t care a jot about Russian people. They are probably totally expendable to him.

They massively misjudged the resolve of the Ukrainians and believed they'd be in Kyiv in less than a week
