It does get risky - we can't expect deliveries of weapons to be seen in the same way as red cross parcels or food aid. I suppose dropping things off on the western border is safe enough, but trying to deliver straight into eastern Ukraine might be a problem.

I think Biden has said the US are going to send some long range missiles.

Think you may have missed the point. I think he means weapons with such a range could be fired anywhere in Ukraine and reach Russia, not deliver them direct to the front line

Yes, I did miss that. I know we are thinking of establishing a naval corridor to get grain out of Ukraine to avert a global food crisis. It seems obvious to send the ships over full of weapons and bring them back full of grain. Can't see Russia being happy with that, but if they attack UK /EU shipping things could get messy.

Commercial vessels will never get insurance to carry military equipment, so I think that method is a non starter.

Also, in the current situation, cannot see any vessels getting insurance to enter the Black Sea.

Yesterday a ship with a Togolese flag was told to "leave Russian territorial waters or weapons would be used"
Ukraine wasn't happy about it.
