the sending of arms is only prolonging this war, and causing the death of more people. The sanctions are counterproductive and causing even more distress. There needs to be another way around this, even if it means in the short to medium term in accepting things as they are.

Absolutely stunning reports here and as others have said, its an absolute discgrace that this stuff isnt reported in such a timely fashion by our media. Albeit with rather sombre news here, but an organisation such as the BBC should be doing better.

I suggest they declare it as a "Special operation route". That at no point will they invade Russia. And that the route is necessary to denazify the area. And that they are doing for only peaceful intentions. Russia wouldn't have a leg to stand on in protest!

I’m in two minds about that. One thing Ukraine have done hugely is win the information war, that has led to a lot of unverified information on the likes of Twitter in particular. The bbc tend to go off verified information from the U.K. and US military that always has a bit of a lag. It will never provide information as quickly as Twitter, and therefore threads on forums, will.

They’re not far off though if you read the latest report.

This place is waaaay behind Russian lines, almost on the border.

If any of this is real (who knows) it seems like the Russian army is simply running away from Ukraine as fast as it can. Wouldn't bet on it, but still, we can hope.

It fucks me off when these Russian apologists say " stop giving them weapons it only prolongs the war" as if its some kind of generous and gentlemanly thing to say.

What they really mean is please stop arming the Ukrainians so my beloved but shit Russian army has a chance to slaughter people at will.

And if anyone thinks a few power cuts and a slightly more expensive couple of years is going to stop us Brits supporting Ukraine then you don't know much about us or our history!

We’ve had a succession of surrender monkeys on this thread who have either called for a negotiated outcome, the stopping of western support, Ukrainian surrender to save lives etc etc. They all look like a bunch of mugs now. Let’s see if any come back on to admit they got it spectacularly wrong.
