I would normally remind people that this is Putin's war, and that the average Russian probably hates him as much as we do. That the Russian people in general are decent people just trying to live their lives.
The only problem i've got is that i've yet to meet a decent Russian in real life. The ones i've met so far are absolute twats. I thought it might be because the main ones i've met are through my work. And they tend to be wealthy etc.
I try to look through propaganda, and just see the human costs. But i'm sorry, i just cannot see anything decent about the entire Russian population. They have been totally ruined by generation after generation of state control. That state control they have been happily supporting when it suited their needs.
It's too late that they are now rising up against the war. They were happy when it didn't affect them directly.
My only regret is that those who have committed war crimes will never get punished unless the entire Russian regime collapses.
So still little sympathy for the cannon fodder being sent to their deaths...
