Whilst I 100% agree this is something that will not happen easily.

Have no doubt about it Putin can and could be taken out anytime the West/NATO chooses but....

They need to be very very careful about the timing of any such action and the potential consequences.

if there was a build up of troops say waiting to cross a bridge(pontoon) that's the area that they would attack, it would wipe everything out within a km also that crossing wouldn't be able to be used again

But in that scenario surely you would just use conventional artillary, it's cheaper, won't give NATO an excuse to get directly involved, and you can't stop an artillary round, it's what has worked for Ukraine so far.
