That doesn’t respond directly to my point though. I get the illegality of keeping POWs in a specific area to act as a shield, such as next to an ammunition dump, but an urban area is surely too wide and nebulous to be enforceable as a war crime.

Using them as human shields is against the Geneva convention & rightly so

Ermmm....not sure this war is being played by the rules.

And in any case I did say treat them well and it would only be the Russians who would be any threat to them.

Tweets I've been reading saying 2000 to 5000 russians trapped and surrounded in Lyman. Seems to be some debate as to where ukraine will take next after Lyman but looks like they're making big gains again or about to?

Lyman is in Donetsk region which was declared as a russian territory yesterday. Today it's back where it belongs in Ukraine. ****, Cossacks just took back your territory. aren't you suppose to nuke them?
