I doubt they will and F-16's are a poor choice really. They're good in dogfights but they aren't very capable in terms of bombs and air support is what Ukraine really needs to take a lot of territory. It might help give them the edge in the air but Russia can turn the taps on that anytime they want, there hasn't really been an air battle to win. They'd also have to be based somewhere where they'd be vulnerable to Russian cruise missiles.
It's amazing how this war has changed modern warfare because a year ago we'd all say that the next war will be over within days because of the air forces and technology involved but it has been the opposite. Everything about this war has been about territory, ground forces, people and the capability of vehicles like tanks.
Ukraine have been very successful because they are really well trained and well resourced on the ground even despite having less people. Russia meanwhile has zero experience and they've been constantly bogged down due to poor tactics and poor equipment at the lowest level.
It's incredible that in the 21st century the army of the worlds 5th largest defence spender invaded a smaller neighbouring country and was slowed and frustrated because their tanks and vehicles ran out of petrol!
