Whatever views people hold this is unprecedented geo politics for most of us alive today.

I think the collapse of the Soviet Union was probably a bigger shift in geopolitics but this would be a close second. That said, there's a long way to go before any of this happens and a fair degree of wishful thinking as well. There are other scenarios in which things end up heading south in spectacular and nasty ways as well.

Interesting read, A little concerned by the narrative that the security of the west will largely lie in the hands of Erdogan in Turkey, given his own record on human rights and alleged associations with the more extreme elements of the Islamic world. Surely we can do better than that
