Russian invasion of Ukraine

This is concerning for Ukraine, I put in here a week or so ago, that they had received air defence equipment that was taking these drones out, or simply jamming the signal so they fell out of the sky

It appears Ukraine need either more of these air defences, or they need something new to try and halt these attacks:

The way it’s going these conscripts that Putin called up are not even going to get into the area before it’s over, Ukraine are moving at incredible speed. My worry is they reach the Russian border then what? If Russia start shelling from their side what do the Ukrainians do, they can’t invade Russia, will they lob bombs and missiles over the border?
I've always wondered WHY?

Why can Ukraine not attack Russia in self defence? I always believe attack can in some circumstances be the best form of self defence. Who says Ukraine can NOT attack their enemy?

It feels like we are entering the end game here. Kherson could be liberated in a few days, leaving Melitopol, Mariupol and Donetsk completely encircled and cut off.

The Ukrainian advance is happening so quickly that the Russian mobilisation won’t matter.
Those coastal cities are the key but thy won't be surrounded by the fall of Kherson. Russia still has a continuous line from its territory along the coast to the Crimea peninsula. But its a long line getting increasingly thin. Attacks in the North East and west are designed to expose the weak ends and force Russia into a difficult choice. They can either redeploy and fight back / hold. Or they can keep a solid defence around the key coastal cities.

Looks to me like they are abandoning those regions. But at great cost and Ukraine can just keep hammering away. At some point the war will get to the coast unless the Russian do something. And if they lose that continuous line its over.

Think again. It would be party time for russian propaganda.
Not a good idea, emotionally based on revenge.
They will keep a cool head.

There is a major Ukrainian strike force sitting on the front from Zaporizhzhia to Donetsk (City) just twiddling it's thumbs at the moment.
Melitopol and Mariupol are the targets for that.
At the moment they are tying down Russian forces from being deployed elsewhere. Can't see that lasting too long. When the mud hardens I think they'll be let off the leash.
Yeah, I agree the main UA force will come Donbass and Zaporizhia to take back southern part of Kherson from the east, further to Crimea.

We don't know if the Dnipro bridges will still be standing after russians have left north Kherson.

The "end game" which keeps getting spoken about,is when he presses the button to finish the lot.

If he's backed into a corner and losing territory they thought they'd secured,he may be left with no option, which is not to be ignored.

Thanks and I accept what you say, it makes sense.

But that addresses the question why they might not attack, I'm read to believe that they cannot attack, i.e. are constrained from doing so. Maybe I have nis-read the narrative?
