US President Joe Biden earlier met with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping amid the G20 summit in Bali.

The two leaders agreed that nuclear weapons should never be used, including in Ukraine, a White House statement said.

It added: "President Biden and President Xi reiterated their agreement that a nuclear war should never be fought and can never be won and underscored their opposition to the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine."

Relations have been tense between the US and China in the wake of the latter's actions in Taiwan.

The White House said Mr Biden and Mr Xi spoke "candidly" about global issues
