Russian invasion of Ukraine

Zelenskyy:

In response to journalists’ questions, I emphasised that yesterday, Ukraine carried out a brilliant operation, planned and executed independently by our side. Ukraine is making it clear: we are not going to surrender, and we will not accept any ultimatums. But we do not want war. We do not want to show our strength, we are forced to, because the enemy refuses to stop. And when we do show our strength, we do it justly, striking military targets. We show it not only to the Russian aggressors, but also to those of our allies who were once strong supporters but have started to waver.Trust in Ukrainians, and belief in Ukraine, has been restored. I believe the outcome of this operation is a very strong one.

Sorry, was just saying that we commissioned carriers that we could not resource with workforce or equipment.
…and I was alluding to the fact that the 1st drone was the reaper…and given the accelerating pace of technological change, it was likely to be the future main weapon platform across air, land and sea.

The USS Cole attack showed that large ships are vulnerable to small boats (albeit limited range for the suicide squad)…the development and use of Ukrainian sea drones I would say supports that idea and progression, ie capable of delivering enough explosive against a large object many many times larger than a tank (cf air drones).

Aircraft carriers can certainly project force, but the complexity and cost of the assets required to ensure their own survival, let alone the cost of themselves and their aircraft, would be something to debate - you could have a fleet of smaller drone carriers for the price of one aircraft carrier. And the loss of a single drone carrier, whilst still being a major loss, wouldn’t be as devastating as the loss of single aircraft carrier.

Dmitry Medvedev, in apparent reference to the Saturday night attack, said: "Retribution is inevitable".

One of Putin's key allies, the top security official, seemed to say Russia would be taking revenge.

He posted cryptically on Telegram, saying: "To all who are worried and waiting for retribution.

"You need to worry - this is a normal person's quality.

"Retribution is inevitable."

Did Dmitry say this before, during or after his daily trip to the vodka bottle?
Will anyone notice amongst all the other atrocities the Rissians commit?

Aircraft carriers, fighter jets, tanks it’s all old ways of thinking and extremely expensive as apposed to what swarms of off the shelf drones can do. Their must be some very nervous Russian pilots over the Black Sea as how do you detect and spot a threat in the water that is probably no bigger than a rowing boat from 30,000 feet?

I hope the Ukrainian’s have a double tap somewhere in a Russia disguised as ice cream trucks or a vodka van. Now that would be funny.
