Russia seems to be splitting into factions when you have Wagner and then Gaz Prom setting up their own private army. You then have China quietly manipulating the Russians into a position of their advantage where they potentially will land grab parts of the country on their border.

This rhetoric that the country could be carved up is fear mongering to make the population think they are under threat and should support the war in some shape or form.
