Get the violin out ;)
Get the violin out ;)
You love a bit of doom and gloom!Russians using thermite bombs seems like running out of normal ammo won’t be long before the chemical weapons get used.
It will affect the daily life, it just needs time. For example, first your car needs to break down before you experience the lack of supply. First your mobile needs to crack before you realize, there are only few to buy and for an exorbitant price tag. First the stolen aircrafts need to stay on ground before you realize there will be no more inner Russian flights anymore. Etc.
Now you know how Georgians, Ukrainians and many more feel about themAs petrusha stated earlier in the thread, he isn't seeing much day to day change at the moment.
Or at least the changes aren't that disruptive.
That is assuming he is truthful or isn't being sanctioned/monitored.
I would have hoped the average Russian was far more intelligent to realise the lies they are being fed. But it seems i was wrong. Even those who know what is going wrong aren't strong enough or don't care to do anything about it. The decent Russians have been suppressed into silence.
"The collective west" doesn't want to invade Russia. NATO is a defensive organisation BECAUSE of the likes of Russia.
My original thoughts on Russia was that apart from being a bit dated in technology, that they were an emerging and intelligent country, that just needed some freedoms to realise their true potential. (like the space program)
Now i see them as a insecure/paranoid war mongering nation. That their military was/is a sham.
That they had a shot at freedom, but chose to re-shackled themselves when things got hard after the fall of the USSR.
I've gone from having no opinion to wanting the nation to fail...(so they no longer pose a threat)
I've thought long and hard about Petrushia's post (it was me who drew him back to the thread) and I think he summed up what I expectedAs petrusha stated earlier in the thread, he isn't seeing much day to day change at the moment.

St. Petersburg; both that city, Moscow and their surrounding area are largely insulated from the effects. Go further east and look at the ethnic minorities and it is a different situation but the people worst affected have no influence. As petrusha stated earlier in the thread, he isn't seeing much day to day change at the moment.

A question only the Ukrainians can/should answer...Should Ukraine withdraw from Bakhmut?

That horrific picture tells the story. Look how close together the victims are. Jeez.
