Russian invasion of Ukraine

Shoigu going for hero status now.
His "Patriot PMC" are attempting to approach Vuhledar and are about 5km Northeast of Kyrylivka,or 10km Southeast of Vuhledar itself......There are 6 Russian regiments in front of them, and last but not least, covering the rear......155th Naval Infantry.
What could possibly go wrong?
I'll tell you what....Ukraines 72nd Mech Brigade (and some) are in front of them.

Slava Ukraini.

Very lucky to have not ended up in the drink themselves.
With an interest in military aviation I've done a bit of research into this "drone" on wikipedia, and it's not the one that is normally on Flightradar24 as "forte10" which is an RQ4 global hawk, which I'd kind of assumed it was.

The one that was damaged and ditched is actually an MQ9 reaper, there are big differences between them, as the video shows the MQ9 is prop driven, whilst the RQ4 is a jet engine.

There's a bit of a cost difference in operrational use too, the RQ4 costs $18k per hour to operate, so an operation of 18 hours (typical) costs over $300k, whilst the MQ9 a mere $4k per hour.

I had wondered how the russian jets had approached it, becuase the RQ4 normally flies above 50k feet, but the SU27 has a maximum ceiling of 60k feet, so it wasn't impossible. I think the MQ9 generally flies quite a lot lower (though can also fly high), so much easier to approach.

I'm sure the russians know all about both, and would love to recover the downed one, but even if they manage to find it they're unlikely to learn much new imho.

Some twats on here will have believed Russia’s lies about the drone being at fault no doubt.

Even though unarmed how much fun they could have had lighting those Russian jets up at the range they were fucking around at. Next one I’d sling a couple of brimstone’s on it, see if the Russians want to play when it can shoot back.
